How can I get my child involved in your theatre?
A common misunderstanding, and it's a question we get asked frequently at CTHR. Our company consists of professional ADULT ACTORS, and we provide entertainment for children and families. However, we make it a goal of ours to involve the audience in each of our plays. So come prepared for you and your child to be a part of our productions!
How much does it cost for a ticket?
Our weekend shows are just $5 per person! Please sign up for the mailing list to keep updated on our programming. We do not sell tickets in advance, you can buy them right at the door before the show. House will always be open half an hour to curtain (i.e. the doors will be open at 10:30 for an 11am show). We accept cash or check.
Where are you located?
CTHR is a mobile theatre based out of Norfolk, Virginia. We have several different venues in Hampton Roads where we perform regularly and we also tour to schools. Take a look at our "venues" and "calendar" pages for more detailed information. If you are interested in booking a show at your school or event, go to "touring company".
Can I audition for your theatre?
Yes, you can! Contact us if you are interested in auditioning. You can also sign up for our mailing list and check our website regularly- any audition notices will be posted there.
Do you offer any acting classes or summer camps?
We do not currently offer any classes or camps for children.
I want CTHR to perform at my school/event/venue. How can I book you?
Our touring company offers a wide variety of plays available to you. Most of our touring shows are geared towards education, and several of our shows are purely entertaining and would be appropriate for any type of event! We are available to tour all of the Seven Cities. My child is ____ years old. Is your theatre appropriate for them?
All of our shows are family friendly. We can make you laugh whether you are young or just young at heart. We always provide our recommended audience ages with the show descriptions on the calendar and the mailing list. Most of our shows are best for ages five and up. All are around an hour in length. If you have any questions about whether or not a particular show is appropriate for your child, please email us and we'll be happy to help.
I have a production I would like to perform, and am looking for a venue-
can CTHR provide me with one?
Our company does not currently own a venue. We have partnered with other organizations in the area who provide us with performing spaces.
Do you have any openings for jobs in your company?
CTHR consists of volunteers. If you are interested in becoming involved, please contact us.
How do I sign up for your mailing list?
It's easy! Use the contact box at the top of the page or email us at cthr40_gmail.com. Put the subject of the email as "mailing list", and in the message mention your email address. We publish a monthly newsletter that includes our calendar of weekend shows and special events, and you will receive up to date schedule changes, reminders and opportunities to enter giveaways.
